Polyethylene terephthalate is a common thermoplastic polymer resin from the polyester family.  PET is safety material for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical application and also recyclable. Polyester resins are known for their excellent combination of properties such as mechanical, thermal, chemical resistance as well as dimensional stability. PET contains ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, which are combined to form a polymer chain. PET Flakes come in various colours such as clear, light blue, green and multi colour.

PET Flakes are made from PET Plastic Bottles (Post-consumption) recycling. Packaging foods and beverages; and personal care products can be used as an alternative raw material for making PET Flakes. There are four stages in the PET Flakes recycling process: Grinding, hot washing, flotation, and centrifugation.

Polyethylene Terephthalate is grouped under Resin Identification Code 1.
